We always discuss the financial benefits of owning a home such as no more rent increase and some kind of equity building., but what about the other benefits that some people don't see till actually they buy a home.

Once the goal of home ownership is achieved. 
Three month after they start settling, many first-time home buyers start to feel that things in their life started to fall into place.  It's as if not owning took so much of their mental energy that other goals were not worked on until that big goal was out of the way.  So buy a home and start discovering what really life is all about.

Once you own a home, you are part of a community and feel more attached to your city.  You become more interested in what happens in your town.

I am in control feeling
It's your home, you can add to it or remodel it.  Its your town, you are more involved in the community and even might get involved in politics.  You have a feeling of being in control of something in your life.

Kids, backyard and neighborhood.
In a neighborhood, kids usually play in the yards. In a rental apartment apartment complex they never knew where the kids were. They could be in any of hundreds of apartments, doing who knows what. In a home you get to know your neighbors and share watching the kids responsibility.

Time saved by not going up and down the elevator.
You might not think of it as a big deal, but if you have kids, you know what I am talking about.  The kids wash gets done in between movies and during commercials.
